How does a culture survive-and transform-over thousands of years? This course examines Jewish cultural history from antiquity to the present, tracing how communities have responded creatively to change through ritual, art, belief, humor, and everyday life. Using a wide range of historical sources, the course offers a global and interdisciplinary introduction to questions of culture, identity, and history.
