Program Opportunity: "Laboring with Hope" to Improve Awareness of Maternal Health Disparities<https://news.nnlm.gov/region_5/laboring-with-hope-program/>, The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 5 is offering an opportunity for NNLM members in Region 5 to host a viewing of the 30-minute documentary, Laboring with Hope<https://www.laboringwithhope.com/> for their communities. This program is intended to improve awareness of maternal health disparities and create opportunities to share reliable health information.
The NNLM Data Visualization Challenge<https://www.nnlm.gov/nec/resources/datavizchallenge>, hosted by the NNLM National Evaluation Center, encourages participants to push the boundaries of their skills by testing out new tools, techniques, or approaches, and publicly demonstrating their best visualizations. Submissions will be accepted February 1 - March 31, 2023

Call for Lightning Talks! MLGSCA/NCNMLG 2023 Spring Virtual Symposium
The Planning Committee of the MLGSCA/NCNMLG chapters of the Medical Library Association invites proposals for Lightning Talks for our 2023 Spring Virtual Symposium. The Symposium theme is Shifting the Shelves: Collaborating Between Libraries and can encompass a variety of topics. 2023 NIH Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research
Summer programs at the National Institutes of Health<https://www.training.nih.gov/programs/sip> (NIH) provide an opportunity to spend a summer working on-site, side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world, in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research. This includes everything from behavioral and social sciences, through biology and chemistry, to physics, mathematical modeling, computational biology, and biostatistics. The program is for college, graduate school, and professional (e.g., medical, dental, pharmacy, etc.) school students. Deadline to apply is March 1.

HHS Test to Treat Initiative
HHS launched a nationwide Test to Treat initiative<https://aspr.hhs.gov/testtotreat/Pages/default.aspx> to help people quickly access lifesaving treatments for COVID-19 at little to no cost. The initiative is available at thousands of locations nationwide, including pharmacy-based clinics, federally-funded health centers, long-term care facilities, and community-based sites.

New Technical Assistance on Plain Language
The Self Advocacy Resource and Technical Assistance Center (SARTAC<https://www.selfadvocacyinfo.org/>) announced a new technical assistance opportunity for states on enhancing plain language or easy-to-read information. SARTAC is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's Administration for Community Living. This is not a Notice of Funding Opportunity or a grant. The technical assistance includes two trainings: one for self-advocates and others to practice making information clearer and more useful, and a second for governments and nonprofits.
