You are invited to attend the NNLM Day at MLA on April 28, 2022 whether you plan to attend the annual Medical Library Association (MLA) conference or not. This event includes a national NNLM update. Each of the 7 Regional Medical Libraries (RML) will present their own updates simultaneously. In addition, some of the NNLM Offices and Centers will also provide their own separate sessions. Community Health Worker Training Program
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), announced<https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2022/04/15/hhs-announces-226-million-launch-community-health-worker-training-program.html> the availability of $226.5 million in American Rescue Plan funding to launch the Community Health Worker Training Program. This new program will increase the number of community health workers who play a critical role in connecting people to care, including COVID care; mental health and substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services; chronic disease care; and other important health services. One of the many ways you can help build a national elder justice movement is by joining the 2nd annual virtual Walk for WEAAD.
